Mens cuts.I started my career with two years of art school before realizing it was making people beautiful that I loved . Artistic color placement is something that I bring from my art school background. An unwavering confidence in my abilities has grown from that experience as well. Making sure everyone that leaves my chair is excited with their look. I achieve this through detailed consultations and open communication. I have great passion for what I do and believe that at the end of the day THAT is the single most important aspect in a fabulous stylist. And then on a personal level: In Feb. of '03 I married the love of my life! Brandon is a terrific man that gives me the strength, support, and courage to be the woman that I've become. We live in an old brick home that we have almost completely remodeled with the help of great friends and family. Living in our little home town didn't get me away from the cold winters but keeps us near the ones we love most. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing the look on your face for your special day when I turn the chair to face the mirror. I aspire to greatness! And then on a personal level: I have 3 beautiful daughters that take up all of my time when I'm not at work. Holly L. On a professional level: Fine hair (like mine:) Textured Hair. I enjoy creative edgy styles. I CAN NOT get my hands on enough education, if they made an education cake I'd eat one every day. Those who don't know me well think I am quiet when really I'm just observing all things around me, drinking in the energy from my team mates and perfecting my own technique. Making sure that every person that trusts their look to me leaves with a unique style that they are comfortable with recreating at home. I think outside of the box. Drawing inspiration from all things around me. I use color as my tool box. I love building women's confidence in their own look and abilities. I am an artist. And then on a personal level: My main goal in life is to always find some way to make it better. Discovering new hobbies or music always satisfies me. I love taking advantage of opportunities to do fun things with my friends and family; anything that brings me closer to them. Nothing makes me happier than to see the sun shining. I love to travel and explore new countries, new places and new cultures. So far my favorite journey has had to be Costa Rica, exploring the beach, four wheeling with friends. My trip to Puerto Rico had me hiking through the rain forest and swimming in waterfalls. I enjoy meeting people and listening to their story, their lifestyle and merging that with my vision for their own look. This industry is my passion, I am an artist. I love spending time with all of my family they mean the world to me. In the summertime you can find me outside preferably on some body of water. In winter I like to be on top of a mountain strapped to my snowboard! Sitting around a camp fire anytime of year. Hair and beauty are my passions. I don't see this as a job, I'm doing something I love immensely. I enjoy creating an image for clients that is both versatile and practical. Aja On a professional level: I was born into the beauty industry. Not quite, but it definitely feels that way. Growing up I was surrounded by a gifted group of talented artists including my uncle, aunt & cousins. I learned from immersion. Keeping up with the trends was always on my agenda, but not always in my budget, so I taught myself the tricks of the trade. Honing my skills on classmates, friends and of course myself. Douglas J was the next logical stop after Lumen Christi. As I finished cosmetology school I took off for Chicago, working under an industry great, and absorbing all of his skills. Long hair is one of my favorites, I love to show you that there are options to switch it up with out cutting it off. Formal styles, or black tie hair, is another of my specialties. Three years of photography class, and working on several photo shoots has helped me see styles through the lens and perfect what will look great for years to come in your photographs. Challenging curls and stubborn texture give me inspiration. Finishing it all off with the perfect color , is like icing on the cake. Choosing a shade that compliments and defines your skin tone and lifestyle is so thrilling. Nothing is better than conquering a difficult ‘do and seeing the smiles on your face as I show you how to recreate the same look at home. And then on a personal level: I am my own person. My mom is my best friend and confidant. I am the oldest of 5 on my dads side and love to hang out with my brothers and sisters. Summer is my season. I love to chill on the lake with my friends and family. I have yet to travel outside of our country's borders..but I plan on checking that off of my list really soon. My shoe addiction is slowly but surely taking over my closet. I am doing what makes me happy, and in a career that I never feel I actually work, because I love it so much.
